Much of what we know about heart disease comes from a large reliable research study conducted in Framingham, Massachusetts. The Framingham Study found that 90% of 50-year-olds adults with normal blood pressure can expect to develop hypertension before they die. But once you have hypertension, is there such a thing as a cure? What we do know for sure from the research is that medication is for managing hypertension to prevent poor outcomes like stroke, heart attack, and kidney disease.
