What to Consider During the COVID-19 Pandemic Besides Staying at Home

by Tonya L. Breaux-Shropshire, PhD, MPH, RN –

What to do to keep safe during the COVID-19 pandemic besides stay at home? We are living in times of uncertainty and constant change. Many people and families have been affected by the pandemic. At this point, nobody seems to know what to do to decrease the severity of COVID-19.

However, experts say that Vitamins A, C, E, D3 (K2), melatonin, elderberry, selenium, magnesium, potassium, and zinc may help decrease the severity of COVID-19.

Hot and Cold Showers

I have no knowledge about hot and cold showers, but some gurus have recommended this practice to boost immunity. The video below will give you everything you would want to know about hot and cold showers. I will move into this practice once I can get brave to use the cold water.

Ace Inhibitors

Experts have recommended avoiding ACE inhibitors and selenium and elderberry if you develop COVID-19. These claims sound too good to be true, but there are studies that support these claims. Besides staying home, perhaps you can take the appropriate supplements. Ask your doctor if these supplements are right for you.

Other Steps to Take Besides Saying Home

1). Wear a Mask or any cover over your face if you go out for essentials. Wash your or cover when you get home being careful with handling to prevent contamination

2). Avoid Ibuprofen

3). Stop Ederberry if you have any symptoms of COVID-19

4). If you are newly prescribed an Ace Inhibitor (i.e., lisinopril or “pril”) or angiotensin II receptor blocker (i.e., losartan, valsartan, etc.), you may ask your doctor for an alternative medication if you are concerned about the controversy regarding these drug classes.

6). Frequently wash your hands with soap and water

Vitamin D2 Versus D3

You can get a prescription of D2 from your health care provider if you are deficient, or you can get D3 from over the counter if your doctor recommends D3. Vitamin D comes in two forms, D2 and D3. Vitamin D2 is the plant form of Vitamin D, and D 3 is produced by your skin and is better utilized by your body, according to Dr. Weil. The best Vitamin D to use as a supplement, according to Dr. Weil, is vitamin D3 because it is better used by the body.

When you take vitamin D3, take it with a fatty meal, and it’s best to take vitamin K2 with it to allocate calcium.

Dr. Levy at peakengy.com tells the importance of vitamin C, zinc, and magnesium, and disease and death. According to Dr. Levy, vitamin C is the most researched item in history. It has been shown to treat polio.

What else can you do Besides Stay at Home?

Dr. Dietrich Klinghart of Sophia Health Institute in his talk called “Misinformation and Protecting Your Family, suggested supplementing with potassium if you get COVID-19 and discontinuing selenium. Dr. Klinghart recommends liver flushes, which I know nothing about how this works. See the transcript for more information.
